I always wear my best outfits to work.
Which, I guess, is kinda understandable. As a girl who loves to wear short skirts with halter/off-the-shoulder/tank tops, I'm simply forced to get creative under my work's "skirts-past-knees," "no-armpits-showing," and "closed-toed-shoes" dresscode.
As a result, I give you this: I paired one of my only (and favorite) t-shirts with a new velvet skirt I purchased at a thrift store (my co-worker today asked if I bought it at American Apparel, which made me very very happy considering it only cost about $2). The skirt, while being very chic and sleek, wasn't too distracting considering it's midi length. Also, I felt like the iconic "NEW YORK CITY" label on my t-shirt gave it an urban-y/metropolitan kinda vibe. I digged it.
Again, close-toed-shoes, so I opted for my go-to ankle boots.

The sun beat down on us all pretty hard today, and the breeze that sometimes flittered by hardly comforted me from that fact. Luckily, I dressed for the occasion.
I brought my stepdad's old snapback hat and my own pair of tinted circle sunglasses to shade my face from the sunlight. My knitted top fit loosely over my floral printed bikini, which kept me feeling breezy throughout the day. Lastly, I slipped on a pair of my reliable white sandals, which was only practical considering I'd be dragging my feet through the sand all day.
My favorite part about this outfit was the bathing suit. The tropical print reminds me of some kind of floral drawing you'd see on a Hawaiian postcard. I'm always in a summer vibe when I put those pieces on.
Plus, the fact that it makes my boobs look great isn't so bad either.

First of all, don't worry, my boobs are covered.
I knew that I would be going to a lot of different places today, so I settled for a comfortable and casual look. My light denim jacket, white circle skirt, and white sandals really emphasized that casual vibe, while my floral printed bralette added a boho touch to the overall outfit.
The thing that I love about this skirt is that it literally goes with every outfit. You can easily dress it up or down, so this bottom is definitely a staple piece in my closet. However, despite its merits, I really think I should start buying some new skirts so I'm not always wearing this one. The tricky thing about having clothes that match with literally everything is that your look may start to get a little repetitive.

I'll keep it real simple. Here are two of my favorite outfits from last week's trip to Hawaii.
Outfit 1: Something Old, Something New
We spent the majority of this day appreciating the Hawaiian culture at the Iolani Palace and the Polynesian Cultural Center - so no swimming was involved (for once). I took this as an opportunity to finally dress up a little bit with a white, textured crop top and a vintage patterened skort (yes, a skort) that used to belong to my grandma.
Throughout the day, I wore my clear-edged and rounded sunglasses, which I felt added a modern/contemporary vibe to the get-up. At the beginning of the day, I wore some white sandals, but later traded them out for a dressier pair of cut out boots at the PCC. I also added in a floppy hat. (Floppy hat and cut out boots not shown in this post because I forgot to take an individual photo, but feel free to check out my previous post, where there's a group photo, to see how it all looks together).

Outfit 2: Basic Beach
As you can probably tell from the amount of photos I took, I was feeling this outfit way too much. Underneath, I wore a palm tree print one-piece, and over that, I wore a rugged and semi-see-through cover up dress. My favorite parts about this dress were the long and baggy packets, the ombre-styled coloring, and the cascading silhouette the piece gave. (Can you believe I got this for sale at Urban Outfitters? Best $30 I've ever spent.)
For a finishing touch, I topped it with my floppy hat. I wore my white, strappy sandals because they were simple and didn't attract attention away from the main pieces. Also, I wore my reflective circle sunglasses, which are quickly becoming a personal favorite of mine. Personally, I think they added an urban vibe to the overall casual and beachy look.
